Tuxes and Tails

As the owner of the world’s cutest baby doll cat, a side project I enjoy is making pet clothes. Everything is cuter miniature! This month I’ve been sewing adorable little dog clothes for Downtown Dogs. Some of these outfits were featured in a fashion show at Tuxes and Tails, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay’s black tie fundraiser.

Yesterday I attended Tuxes and Tails with my family. The event theme was Masquerade. With a sold out crowd of 700 animal lovers, the effect was grand. Here I am with my sister on the red carpet! She’s wearing a Xiaolin champagne lace dress, and I’m wearing cat ears.

After a scrumptious dinner of option A. Swordfish or option B. Artichokes, the fashion show began. Dogs pranced down the runway wearing Xiaolin dog dresses, capes, and tutus. All of the furry models featured in the show were up for adoption, and several of them went home that night with their forever family. The dogs in the show were walked or carried by local celebs and political figures from the Tampa Bay area.

After the show, the dogs got to meet all their new fans. It was a great event, and I’m glad I got to participate this year. All dog clothing from show sold at Downtown Dogs. Stop by their store in Tampa to fetch a Xiaolin Halloween costume for your pet!
